Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?

Went to the mountains last night to take teh boat up and clean the house for my parents annual college buddy get together thingy. I'll get good pics of the boat and house next time. We cleaned a lot of crap out of there too.
The mountain laurel on the steps down to the lake was in flull bloom. Usually that stuff comes in in June and the flowers are gone by now. Then again the lake was pretty high so I think it may have been a colder than normal spring or something of the sort.

It's a pretty bush

Here is the full resolution picture for you naturey types that think it would make a bitching background image.

And because this had me laughing for the better part of 15 minutes, a conversation I had with Reid the other night.
[2250] SU Chem E: tom "unix isn't fully built for connecting to ftp"
[2251] Reid: who is this tom?
[2251] Reid: and why is he an idiot? :)

Tom is an old roommate of mine. He's a few bricks shy of a load sometimes. too many surfing wipouts and bad sushi or something. His computer intrests are limited to filesharing, and FPS games. Yet his computer is dual xeons on a quad board. At least I encode on mine.

Caledonia Pictures

I think it would be neat to take a chick to a dirt track for a date. Not the first, but one of the first 10 if it's the right time of year. It's original, unique, and a good time.

Pictures in the continued section, as promised

dam.jpg This is the kickass little dam behind the one site. the right is the little canal that goes to a pond

Tiny pond. Had sunnies, and some largemouth bass. the sunny is swimming over a bass bed.
mutant plant small.jpg
These things were shooting up all over the place. It's a plant, but it has no color whatsoever. We decided it was an alien plant species.
