So I've known about Nite Ize for a while, they make some nice a href=http://www.zbattery.com/zbattery/niteize-utilityholsters.html>knife pouches and maglite accessories. Now that LED's are getting cheaper and more popular, they started dabbling in them. Boy was that a good move.
First item was the Flashflight, a lighted frisbee. At 185 grams it's only 10 heavier than regulation, it uses fiber optics to get the light to the edge of the disc, so an accidental knife won't kill anything. Above all else, it's simple, a battery, an LED and a cap. Twist the cap and it connects the circuit. No electronics to ruin or 9V batteries to short if it gets wet.
I bought my first one of them for about $20 plus shipping, from that store. Then they went and really expanded the line for all the other accessories. Finally they made a flashflight in blue, so I now have 2 lighted discs. I picked up half a dozen of these puppies for a game my brother and his friends play. The games usually started in the evening and it gets hard to see your teammates. Unfortunately work schedules precluded us from trying them out...
Till tonight.
Granted we were only tossing the discs around tonight, and not playing hooligans full out, (I will explain it if you're nice, it really needs to be seen) but dear lord, it was fuckin amazing. a blue and red frisbee floating through the darkness (overcast) each of the 3 of us were wearing a pair...then I came up with the idea of putting them on Frank's hands and feet since he was the most athletic and acrobatic. Boy was that an amazing site. My parents both came out to see what exactly was going on in their yard. Hopefully I'll get some pictures someday or get some video of it for yall to see.
Just incredible. I need to get so many more of those markers. And for anyone that wants a lighted frisbee, BUY THIS ONE, whichever color you like, they're well balanced and you probably won't notice the extra weight. Worth every penny, both times. Just don't try tipping them; that will cause the battery(ies), LED, and cap to scatter across the dark lawn.
For your entertainment I presint this link on kittens. Trust me, just click on it.
From a conversation at camp 2 weeks ago.
We oughtta make him a shirt: "Apathy - Too lazy to fish"
Being said over the leader asleep in his chair in camp on a rather nice day.
Modified for a conversation I had last night:
Apathy - Too lazy to surf the web.
Yeah, that was at you, what are you gonna do about it now?
At least Pandora had hope at the bottom of her box. I'm not that fortunate.
Pops wants me to get rid of this truck for something newer, and wants me to get a job. I don't like most of the newer trucks I see and this one is still okay for now. The one I have a problem with is the second. I mean of course I need a job, but he's pissed off that I can't find one. Now would someone explain how he gets to be pissed off with me because no one wants to hire me? It's okay to be pissed that your son can't find a job, and it's okay if they aren't trying, but when they're posting to 20 jobs a week and never hearing from the companies again, you can't possibly be pissed with your kid.
The job hunting advantage has renurned to the employer. Everything is online now, so they get thousands of resumes and after picking 4 they like, never have to contact any of the rejocts, because it would take too much time. My personal favorite is when they post hundreds of jobs, then the application process is giving them your resume and hoping for the best. You don't even get to tell them what job you'd like to apply for.
It all pisses me off so much. I'm having a company redo my resume into something that works, because I've only had offers for jobs good engineers wouldn't ever consider. I want to kick career services in the nutsack for fucking me over so hard. Isn't your college supposed to help you find a job after they take that much money from you? Isn't that the point of going to college? to get a good job? Now I'm out 2 years, I've worked as a teacher for 5 months, which was pretty nice, I did enjoy that. Ever since then though...It just keeps going downhill. I don't care about anything anymore, I can't care about it, if I cared about it at all anymore it would have torn me apart.
My brother asked what happened to the brother he used to look up to...cause somewhere between high school and college graduation, he dissappeared.
No shit. He was abandoned by all his friends from high school, and all the friends his freshman year of college too. He was still a nice guy though, till he realized that no one really cared about him at all, and the only reason people did homework with him is because he knew what the hell he was doing. Annoying little cunts. The best roommate I ever had decided that SU really wasn't for him*. hmmm, gee now do we see a reason for chris to be so bitter maybe? Now let's add that It took me 2.5 years to figure out that I hated chemical engineering. College sucked, I came out with a degree in something I don't like and a useless physics degree.
Now, there's nothing. A room in my parent's house. I want out and they want me out. Problem is you need a job to do that. and oh shit, look at that, we've come full circle.
If you want to help with teh job search let me know, and I'll send you my new resume. if not Fuck off and Die.
*Kev, I'm not pissed at you for making that decision. I'm just depressed because I lost a good friend at school, one of the very few I had. It took a lot to make that decision, that school just wasn't good for you.
