Today I threw in an extra bike ride. Originally the troop's cycling program would be missing one this week and next. Then I found my brother's friend would only be up till saturday, and thus I could be home in time for a ride.
Peace valley, a ride that takes 3 hours with a good group. 25 miles. Today it took us almost 4. On the way home we were faced with a headwind, scouts running out of fuel, and a scorching hot sun. Once I got home I grabbed a towel and fell into the pool after taking off my sneakers.I've been home for 6 hours, most of it in my air conditioned room and I'm still hot. Probably a bit dehydrated too.
My truck needs an A/C recharge, and a new ground wire, and my bike needs to have the crankset dismantled to find some play in the pedals. fun fun.
Wallenpaupack trip this weekend. It's gonna kick ass, or I'm gonna throw every kid off the dam till it does. I don't think the mego dipstic will be ready in time though. I need a lathe, and just don't have one.
